I’d like to think my family is relatively adventurous when it comes to trying new foods. I’ll drink just about any beer or wine that you pour me; my daughter once chomped down on an onion; and my kids have all dived head-first into king crab, lobster, and sushi when given the opportunity. And, like most American families, we love Sonic. Which is why when I heard the news that the popular fast food chain is rolling out pickle juice slushies this summer (yes, you read that right), I was immediately on board.
But not everyone is.
“Excuse me while I throw up,” wrote Twitter user @madine3.
“A list of things I would rather drink than Sonic’s pickle juice slushies,” tweeted @carriepinkard. “1.) Lighter fluid 2.) Liquefied Tide Pods 3.) The tears of my unborn child.”
Still, plenty of people are kinda digging it, too.
Like @burgerkingler, who tweeted: “*shoves aside curtains and throws open the window* PICKLE JUICE SLUSHIES??? gimme.”
And @RiriRog00: “Sonic is coming out with pickle juice slushies and if that doesn’t make you happy I don’t know what will.”
Keep scrolling through Twitter, and you’ll find that the Internet is pretty much divided on the matter.
Food & Wine reports that the “tangy, very-sweet twist on America’s pickle juice obsession” will be hitting the burger chain this June. And I’m guessing the folks at Sonic are banking its success…
