Mom Embraces Postpartum Belly When Stranger Asks ‘Boy Or Girl?’ 3 Weeks After She Gave Birth

Everyone who has ever given birth knows that pregnancy is hard.

It’s tough both physically and emotionally — your body and mind go through a lot of changes when you’re growing another human being.

When you go into labor, your body is in for more challenges. And giving birth doesn’t mean that your body will automatically be back to normal.

Dealing with your emotions and body postpartum can be just as difficult as the pregnancy itself.

New mom Anupa King knows this well.

She recently gave birth to her second son, Levi. Throughout her pregnancy, Anupa shared updates with her fans and followers on Instagram, trying to be honest about the realities of pregnancy.

Since having Levi, she’s kept the same open attitude.

Before her new son was born, Anupa shared lots of photos of her belly — and she’s tried to continue sharing belly photos as she recovers postpartum.

Anupa shared the above image and wrote:

The first image was taken hours before Levi was born and the second taken today at 3 weeks postpartum but I like to think 2 weeks since the first week of postpartum didn’t really happen due on a large chunk of my placenta being forgotten in my uterus at birth.

One of the main reasons I share this, as most of you know, THIS is a marathon/dancer’s body and while that can mean I’ll bounce back in no time it clearly doesn’t.

Especially now too that my body is producing all of Levi’s food… I really do admire all the mamas out there that say breastfeeding get their bodies back in shape… For me it’ll take me back on the trails for some long distance running to feel like myself again.
