Hospital Teaches Parents to Care for Preemies

Having a premature child can be scary for moms and dads. There’s a lot of questions left unanswered and many parents are separated immediately from their new child. The new baby is quickly connected to countless wires and is tangled up far away from mom and dad.

New parents can be frustrated that their new baby is struggling to live and there is not much they can do. As mentioned on The Bump there is one hospital that is working to change this. This hospital is looking to connect parents with their newborn. New parents with premature babies can help their new baby and actually play a part in helping their baby survive.

This system is called the ‘Preemie Family Integrated System’ and is at St. James University Hospital in Leeds, England. At this hospital, new parents are taught how to care for their premature baby properly even with the medical complications. This system can help parents feel as if they are doing everything in their power to help their child.
