Searching for a baby name that the whole country isn’t using? We have just the list to get you started—and there’s not an ‘Emma’ or ‘Noah’ in sight.
TIME combed through the Social Security Administration’s state-level data on popular baby names to nail down which names are the most unusually popular in each state. To make this determination, TIME looked at every name that had a significantly higher rank in one state than any other. And each name considered had to appear in at least 10 states to rule out that it wasn’t exclusive to only a very small part of the country.
